Jhansi girl turns strawberry farming hobby into thriving business 

Jhansi: Some people come out of challenges and turn them into their professions. Gurleen Chawla is one who has done this. Overcoming all the difficulties, the Jhansi girl is now a successful entrepreneur, earning a hefty amount after her successful strawberry cultivation. At the age of 26, Gurleen tried to do something extraordinary, and her journey has made her a role model for the local horticulture farmers.

The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic changed the lives of many worldwide. So was the case with Gurleen. She was fond of strawberries but could not get this fruit due to lockdown. She didn’t lose heart and decided to grow strawberries at home. In the beginning she planted seeds in a small pot at home; it was an experiment on her part. Gradually the plant started growing, giving her a lot of joy and encouragement.

She shared her idea with her father, who was ready to support her. Later she decided to grow strawberries on her land. Farming this fruit is a difficult job, especially in the barren land. However, her determination made her will-power stronger. She knew that hard work is essential for getting success. She started watching social media and watched several farming videos, read articles, and got the knowledge of organic farming.

Her patience, relentless work, and regular learning process fetched success. When she received her first strawberry fruit, her happiness knew no bounds; later she started cultivation on a bigger plot of land. It was her hobby to plant strawberries at home, but later it became her full-fledged farming business.

Currently, she has been cultivating strawberries on 1.5 acres of land and made it a flourishing strawberry farm. Her story is a message for youths that ‘if you have determination and will-power, then one day you must achieve your goal. You have to believe in yourself; then you will succeed. Gurleen got success after overpowering all the challenges.
