Sigh of relief: Delhi’s air quality reaches moderate
New Delhi: At last, residents of Delhi-NCR have got a sigh of relief on Saturday with the air quality reaching from moderate to poor in most parts of the city and neighbouring areas. Recent showers and a spell of wind have helped in improving the air quality. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital was recorded at 195 at 7 am, which is considered the moderate category.
The Mandir Marg station recorded the cleanest air with an AQI of 136, while Bawana emerged as the most polluted, with an alarming AQI of 270, according to the Centre’s Sameer app. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that skies will remain clear through the day. The wind speed in the morning was around 8 km/h and is likely to go up to 12-14 km/h by afternoon, and it is expected to reduce in the evening.

The air quality of Noida and Ghaziabad has improved on Saturday as well. The AQI levels of both the cities stood in the satisfactory range—100 in Noida and 96 in Ghaziabad. The AQI of Noida, Sector 116, stood at 85. Temperatures forecast range between 9.16°C and 23.58°C. Residents of Ghaziabad also received clean air as the Sanjay Nagar station recorded AQI at 85.
However, the air quality remained moderate to poor in most of the monitoring stations of Gurugram. The Teri Gram recorded the worst AQI at 241.
